Osnabrück University Guest House “Manfred Horstmann-Haus”
The 1995 as a guest house redesigned villa with landmarked art nouveau elements built in 1911, is situated only a few minutes from downtown. All the University’s institutions in the city and on Campus Westerberg can quickly be reached by foot.
Since June 1996 the villa offers with ten apartments of various sizes to visiting scientists and their families a temporary home.
The first floor of the house contains an auditorium and two additional reception rooms. These rooms are conducive to promoting international exchange, and are suitable for holding meetings, conferences and receptions. The large garden with play facilities for children is an inviting place to linger.
Osnabrück University Senate decided to name the Guest House after the University’s founding rector and long-time President, Professor Dr. Manfred Horstmann.
