About the Internetional Meeting Centre (IBZ) “Felix Hausdorff” in Greifwald
The ‘Felix Hausdorff’ International Meeting Centre (German: Internationales Begegnungszentrum) was adopted into the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation ‘s Programme for the Promotion of International Meeting Centres in the New States in 1994.
Felix Hausdorff who was an international respected professor of mathematics at the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt- University from 1914-1921 was the eponym of the house. Since 1999 the IBZ has been at the disposal as a guest house for foreign guest academics of the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt University and the Max-Planck Institute for Plasma Physics and their families.
The house is situated very central, only a few minutes away from the university, the centre and the railway station. The yard is green with garden furniture for spending some time there. A small recreational area nearby has some playgrounds for children.
